About Peninsula Kids Now

Peninsula Kids Now is a group of concerned citizens, nonprofits and businesses focused on one goal: making child care work better for families, businesses and communities in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

Right now, too many parents are forced to leave jobs or delay education because they can’t find affordable, reliable child care. Providers are stretched thin. Employers are losing workers. Kids are missing out on critical early learning.

In other words, when families in our community can’t access reliable child care, it limits their ability to work, volunteer or pursue education, depriving all of us of their talents, contributions and economic potential.

This isn’t just a family challenge; it’s a community-wide issue with real economic impacts.

We’re here to start the conversation. To share local stories, share the data and explore what a stronger child care system could look like if it were shaped by the people who live and work here.

What We Do

We share facts, figures, and real experiences from across the borough.

Highlight the need.

Elevate local voices.

Parents, providers, business owners, and civic leaders are helping shape the conversation.

We show how child care access affects jobs, education, the economy and family well-being.

Connect the dots.

Build momentum.

While solutions will vary by community, we believe they should start with dialogue and shared goals.
